The main way PolkaFoundry shines is because it is optimized to deal with real-world issues, specifically ones that relate towards dApp UX, to efficiency demand.

The platform has a public blockchain, alongside several dApp developer support services, such as the identity service known as PolkaID, the document storage service known as DocuGuard, and the Oracle Service dubbed the Decentralized Gate.

The PKF Token Explained

The PKF token has a total supply of 200,000,000 tokens, and it is an Ethereum-based, ERC-20 standard token. The goal of PolkaFoundry is to eventually launch the mainnet, where PKF holders will be able to swap ERC-20 PKF tokens for the native PKF coin at a rate of 1:1 once it goes live.

The token itself is used for the payment of transaction fees, both in terms of computation, storage, and as a staking method where users can earn a share of the block rewards. They can participate in the on-chain governance process through staking, where they can earn rewards for voting on proposals. It will also fill a role when it comes to fulfilling payments for PolkaFoundry and partner services.

Features of PolkaFoundry

PolkaFoundry puts an emphasis on the user experience and provides developers with the tools they require as well as with any resources they might need in order for them to build highly accessible and intuitive dApps.

This is done through mitigating frictions, which come alongside interacting with decentralized applications, such as private keys management. As such, PolkaFoundry offers a wide range of built-in services that make the building as well as launching dApps easy.

First, we have the PolkaID, which is used for the process of securely backing up any private keys, as well as improving user safety. It also allows users to sign up for services in a more intuitive way, just by using their email or mobile phone.

Then you have the DocuGuard, which is an IPFS-based file storage and recovery failure system.

The Decentralized Gate is the oracle-like service specifically used to serve any off-chain data to the smart contracts that operate within the blockchain network.

Additionally, PolkaFoundry also features asset inheritance, which is essentially this tool that makes it easy for users to pass their assets to their inheritors automatically, assuming they become inactive for a fixed period of time.

Founders of PolkaFoundry

Thi Truong is the Founder as well as the CEO of PolkaFoundry. The project was initially being worked on in 2018, and Thi Thoung was a key member within Kyber Network’s core team at the time. The PolkaFoundry team today has over 20 members located in several countries across the globe.

The development roadmap saw the platform being developed on the Tendermint engine before being rebuilt on Substrate.
