Lisk is a blockchain platform that has allowed developers to create, fully customize and distribute decentralized applications (dApps). The main coding language here is JavaScript, which is excellent due to the fact that it is one of the most common languages. The idea to pick JavaScript originates due to the fact that Lisk wants to attract as many developers as possible to code their own dApps.

Now, the interesting part here is that the dApps are built on sidechains, and as such, they do not slow the main network in the process.

The sidechains are essentially the branches that connect to the main network but do not affect it. This keeps the mainchain from being slowed down and protects it from any bugs that might occur on the sidechains.

The LSK Token Explained

The native currency of Lisk is the LSK token also known as the Lisk Token. These tokens are not mined as they would be on other types of cryptocurrencies, but they are forged instead. This is due to the fact that LSK operates on a consensus protocol such as Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS). This means that holders of LSK can vote for the people that they want to validate blocks on the blockchain. In order words, the more LSK you have, the more weight your vote will have, and the people who end up receiving the most votes can become delegates, and are paid in LSK for validating the blocks. There are a total of 101 delegates at a time, and they can be replaced at any point assuming they do not end up performing up to expectation.

Features of Lisk

One of the main reasons why Lisk is so popular is due to the fact that it is based on JavaScript, one of the world’s most used programming languages. LSK is the fuel of the network, and it is used to reward delegates who validate the blocks on the blockchain, It can also be used as payment for any transactions that occur on the Lisk blockchain.

Lisk made what is known as the software developer kit based on JavaScript so that developers can get creative. It has four main parts, such as the consensus algorithm, the front-end, the back-end, and the sidechain.

Now, after combining the primary network with the blockchain technology and integrating it with an SDK kit, developers essentially have access to the power and can utilize it for benefits.

Founders of Lisk (LSK)

Discussing the founders of Lisk, it was founded by two people, Max Kordek and Oliver Beddows who started the project in 2017.

When it comes to their history, Max Kordek is the president of Lisk and has the responsibility for the strategy and business of Lisk, however, he also co-founded and fills the role of the director at Lightcurve, where he has the responsibility for the strategy and business there. This project known as Lightcurve is a blockchain product development studio as well as consultancy. Why is this important? Lightcurve is developing the ecosystem of Lisk.

On the other end of the spectrum, Oliver Beddows is the vice president of Lisk and is the director of Lightcurve.
