Darwinia Network (RING) is a decentralized, cross-chain bridge network on Substrate. It claims to be one of the safest bridge solutions out there, intended to connect Polkadot, Ethereum, TRON, and other chains through cross-chain asset transfers and general remote chain calls.

That said, its main applications include Decentralized Finance (DeFi), Cross-Chain NFT trading markets, games, and so on.

In other words, Darwinia has essentially built a permissionless, non-custodial bridge protocol, one which features a high level of efficiency, with low costs, and decentralization of cross-chain tokens and NFT transfers.

It has a bridge solution that has the intention of integrating technologies, including the super-light client alongside the zero-knowledge and optimistic verification mechanism.

Darwinia Network is a decentralized bridge, which can carry high-value cross-chain asset transmission.

Darwinia has two different coins, one being RING and the other being KTON.

The RING Token Explained

The RING token is the native cryptocurrency token that powers the Darwinia Network. It is used to pay for the GAS fees of the on-chain transactions and the cross-chain services. That said, RING has additional functionality, such as being a staking reward, which allows users to obtain power when it comes to voting, which allows them to be a part of the governance of the network.

However, tokenomics don’t end here, as in a way to encourage users to make long-term commitments and pledge, users can choose to lock up their RING tokens for three to thirty-six months through the process of staking. The system will, in turn, offer them a KTON token as a reward for participating in this staking process.

Features of Darwinia Network

Darwinia ChainRelay is a super light-client Chain Relay, which essentially facilitates the upgrade of a single-chain application protocol to cross-chain versions of them.

Darwinia’s cross-chain token bridge solution is essentially this two-way cross-chain token bridge based on the chain relay. This chain relay is intended to adopt the design of the Darwinia Sublinear Relay, which has better performance.

In other words, through all of this, Darwinia can have some truly unique features. For example, the Darwinia Network provides an entrance to the Polkadot ecology for projects which have been deployed on public blockchains, including Ethereum and the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). Additionally, the Darwinia smart contract application is fully compatible with the Ethereum virtual machine and can support dApps such as DeFi and NFTs, which can then be easily migrated to Polkadot.

This int-run allows for a high-quality experience that has low transaction fees and quick transaction confirmation speeds.

All of this is driven by a sound governance system, where all token holders have the ability to submit their proposals to the network. That said, any upgrades to the network are coordinated on-chain and can be enacted autonomously, which ensures that Darwinia’s development can reflect the values of the community.
