The BNPL Pay Protocol, an uncollateralized lending platform, uses a distributed network of Banking Nodes to manage the counterparty risk of uncollateralized borrowing. The system delegates tasks such as credit checks and risk assessment to pool operators, incentivizing them based on their performance. These Banking Nodes manage liquidity pools and distribute funds to potential borrowers as they see fit. Lenders can choose an operator based on their risk-reward preferences while borrowers can apply for credit from any Bank Node under agreed-upon terms. The protocol aims to manage counterparty risk by implementing traditional credit checks and risk assessment processes. The BNPL token, the protocol's governance token, has various uses including bonding a banking node and staking banking nodes as insurance against default.
